Mr. Van Zandt has extensive experience in patent preparation and prosecution and all aspects of IP counseling, including Licensing and contract negotiations, mediation, litigation preparation, and patent validity and infringement analysis. Patent prosecution experience includes a wide range of technologies including computer sciences, electronics, electro-optics, material sciences, network communication protocols, photonics, solid-state physics, and thermodynamics.

Mr. Van Zandt has prosecuted patents on behalf of diverse clients including Aeris Networks, Alien Technology, Applied Materials, Cadence Systems, CriticalPath, Cypress Semiconductor, Flextronics, Immersion, Intel, Kineto, Wireless, Onspec Electronics, Oracle, Qualcomm, Siebel Systems, Sierra Wireless, Siverge, Sonic Innovations, Sony, Sun, Trimble Navigation, Vihana, and Xylinx.

Mr Van Zandt was an associate with Blakely-Sokoloff (2000-2005), where he prepared and prosecuted applications, primarily in software, IC fabrication, LCD design and fabrication, etc. Licensing and contract negotiations, mediation, litigation, patent validity and infringement analysis, Drafting operating agreements and non-disclosure agreements.

Mr. Van Zandt was also an associate with Thelen-Reid (2005-2007), and IP Counsel with Siverge (2008-2012).

Mr. Van Zandt is admitted to the California, Michigan and United States Patent and Trademark Office Bars. Mr. Van Zandt graduated from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific in 1998 with a Juris Doctor (graduated with Distinction) and is a recipient of American Jurisprudence Awards for Academic Excellence. Prior to law school, Mr. Van Zandt graduated, Cum Laude from the University of Detroit with a Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering.
